Inheritance of Treasure Through Christ. Life often feels like a quest for treasure—whether it’s material wealth, meaningful relationships, or inner peace. But as believers, we have access to a treasure far greater than anything this world can offer. We get this inheritance through Jesus Christ. This divine inheritance is not only precious but eternal, transforming our lives and giving us hope in every circumstance.
Introduction
What Is Our Inheritance Through Christ?
When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we become children of God (John 1:12). This spiritual adoption comes with an inheritance. It includes forgiveness of sins, eternal life, and the promise of a future filled with God’s blessings.
1. Forgiveness of Sins
Through Christ, we are redeemed and forgiven (Ephesians 1:7). No matter how far we’ve fallen or how much we’ve messed up, God’s grace covers it all. This forgiveness is a treasure. It sets us free from guilt and shame. It allows us to live in peace and joy.
2. Eternal Life
One of the greatest treasures we inherit is eternal life (John 3:16). The promise of spending eternity with God gives us hope that transcends earthly struggles. It’s a reminder that this world is not our final destination; our true home is in heaven.

3. Spiritual Riches
Our inheritance includes spiritual riches like the fruit of the Spirit. These are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). These qualities shape our character and equip us to live fulfilling lives that glorify God.
Living as Heirs of Christ
1. Trusting in God’s Promises
God’s promises are part of our inheritance. Trusting in His Word allows us to walk confidently through life’s uncertainties. We know that He is faithful to fulfill His promises.
2. Sharing the Treasure
Our inheritance isn’t meant to be hoarded; it’s meant to be shared. When we share the love of Christ with others, we invite them to experience the same treasure. We’ve received this treasure too.
3. Living with Gratitude
Gratitude is a natural response to the incredible gift of our inheritance. By thanking God daily for His blessings, we cultivate a heart that recognizes His goodness and stays focused on Him.
