The birth of Jesus Christ, our Immanuel, reminds us of God’s incredible love. It also demonstrates His wish to dwell among His people. As we think about this miraculous event, let us consider the importance of making room for Jesus. It is crucial to make space for Him in our lives. Mary and Joseph sought shelter for His arrival.

Isaiah 7:14 prophesied, “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” This prophecy was fulfilled in the humble town of Bethlehem, where Mary gave birth to Jesus and laid Him in a manger because “there was no room for them in the inn” (Luke 2:7 NKJV). The imagery of Mary and Joseph being turned away from shelter is a poignant reminder. It shows how often our hearts can be too crowded with distractions, worries, and worldly pursuits. This prevents us from welcoming Christ fully.

3. Serve Others
   Jesus came not to be served but to serve (Mark 10:45). By serving those around us, we show His love. Acts of kindness, generosity, or simply offering a listening ear make room for His presence in our lives.
4. Share the Good News
   The shepherds eagerly spread the word about Jesus’ birth (Luke 2:17). In the same way, we are called to share the hope of Christ with others. They did it with joy and enthusiasm. We should do the same. Whether through words or actions, let us be ambassadors of His love and grace.
